Michael Shawn McDowell, 61, of Newell, West Virginia formerly of Wellsville Oh passed away Friday, February 28th at Knox Community Hospital in Mt Vernon Ohio. He was born March 29, 1963 in East Liverpool Ohio son of Major McDowell Sr and Anna (Haudenschilt) McDowell. He was preceded in death by his wife Jackie, a brother George McDowell and sister Beth Daniels. Mike was a retired carpenter. Survivors include his children Michelle (Brandon) Leek, Crystal (Bob) Webber and Daniel Lake. Grandchildren Faith, Hope, Brandon & Brady and one great-grandson Jagg. One sister Becky Davis (Lisbon), three brothers Joseph (Sue) McDowell(East Liverpool), Major (Kisten) McDowell Jr (Wellsville) and James (Susan) McDowell of Mt Vernon and several nieces and nephews and adopted siblings Vince and Vicki. No viewing hours are planned. Memorial set at later date. Snyder's Funeral Home of Mt Vernon are handling arrangements.
