GREER, SC-Donald Boyd Nixon, age 91, formerly of Warsaw, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his home in Greer, South Carolina, surrounded by his family. Born July 17, 1933 in Huntington, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Boyd and Lillian (Smith) Nixon. Don is now reunited with his loving wife, Nancy, a decade after her passing.
Don had an unwavering faith in God. Prior to moving to South Carolina, he was a devoted member of Roscoe United Methodist Church for 28 years. He was also an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Lugoff, South Carolina for many years. Don had a strong passion for helping others and was actively engaged in numerous church activities throughout his life.
He was deeply proud to serve his country. From May 1952 to May 1956, he honorably served as a Fire Control Technician in the United States Navy. Beyond his technical duties, he shared his love of music by performing in the Navy Base Band and Navy Base Dance Band
