Mary Margaret Walters, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Heritage Senior Living of Plain City.
She was born on May 23, 1928, in Danville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Dale and Edith (Reed) Alexander.
Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Tom Near of Hilliard; granddaughters, Caitlin Near of Hilliard and Erin (Cory) VanHouten of Columbus; two great-granddaughters, Nora and Ava VanHouten; sisters, Martha Walters of New Castle, Claire Barber of Newark; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Walters in 2009, an infant son, Tommy Walters, brother, Kenneth Alexander, and sisters, Emily Veatch and Nancy Walters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 11:00 – 12:00 noon at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel. Graveside funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM in Union Grove Cemetery in Gambier.
