James W. Proper, 65 of Mount Vernon passed away on March 24, 2025 at Country Court in Mount Vernon. He was born on July 26, 1959 to Claude and Shirley (McGlothin) Proper in Mount Vernon, OH.
Jim enjoyed playing guitar, fishing and spending time with his grandkids and his family.
Jim is survived by his son Joshua (Rachel) Proper of Howard, OH; daughter-in-law Lucy Smith of Mount Vernon, OH; former spouse Pepper Proper; a step-daughter Jodi Maslowski of Howard, OH and a step-sons Joseph Maslowski, Chuck, Josh and Doug Shannon of Mount Vernon, OH; grandchildren Kayla, Brenden, Jillian, Kinsley, Jace, Maddilyn, Kamryn and Hannah; brothers Joe (Maude) Proper of Mount Vernon, OH, John Proper, Jason (Jessica) Proper of Greenfield, OH; half-brother Tim Proper and half-sister Tammy (Mike) Bowers of Mansfield, OH; a niece Cheyenne Proper and many extended family members.
